Keyamo Commissions Infrastructure At Sokoto Airport

Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barrister Festus Keyamo (SAN) has “commissioned the newly constructed access road leading to the Sadiq Abubakar III International Airport, Sokoto.” A statement from Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Honourable Minister, said the Honourable Minister also “laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new protocol lounge at the airport as part of ongoing efforts to modernize aviation infrastructure across the country.”

The Minister who was accompanied by the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku and directors of the Authority said the  event underscored the spirit of collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments in delivering quality infrastructure that enhances air travel, safety, and passenger experience.

Barrister Keyamo said: “The airport is a gateway not just to Sokoto, but to the entire North-Western region. These infrastructure upgrades are crucial for enhancing passenger experience and facilitating regional development.”

The event was attended by traditional rulers, state officials, aviation stakeholders, and members of the press. The Minister’s visit reflects the Federal Government’s continued investment in aviation infrastructure as a critical driver of economic growth, regional integration, and national pride.
