Nigeria’s Festus Keyamo Appointed Chairman Of Council Of Ministers Of Banjul Accord Group States

The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development of Nigeria, Festus Keyamo SAN, has been appointed Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Banjul Accord Group (BAG) States. A statement by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, says the Minister’s appointment “was announced during the 4th Meeting of the BAG Council of Ministers” held in Abuja Nigeria.

Moshood said: “As Chairman, Nigeria’s Aviation Minister is expected to provide strategic leadership to the Council in driving regional cooperation, harmonization of aviation policies, and the implementation of key initiatives aimed at enhancing air transport safety, efficiency, and development in the BAG region.”

Moshood also reported that the Ministerial session had in the attendance of high-ranking delegates, including: Dr. Jose Luis S.A. Nogueira – Minister of Transport, Cabo Verde, Hon. Ebrima Sillah – Minister of Transport, The Gambia, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe – Minister of Transport and Aviation, Ghana, Hon. Ousmane Gaoual Diallo – Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Guinea, Hon. Sirleaf Ralph Tyler – Minister of Transport, Liberia and Ambassador Alhaji Fanday Turay – Minister of Transport and Aviation, Sierra Leone.”

Subsequently, the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has congratulated Minister Keyamo on this appointment. Applauding his “remarkable achievements” since his appointment the body said this appointment is: “a testament to the Honourable Minister’s exceptional leadership, bold reforms, and tireless dedication to repositioning Nigeria’s aviation sector as a beacon of excellence across Africa.”
