FAAN Shuts Lagos Airport Runway Temporarily For Repairs

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says there will be a “temporary closure of Runway 18R/36L at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.” The closure, according to FAAN is scheduled for “03:00 Hrs of 3rd March 23:59Hrs of 4th March 2025.”

In a release, Mrs. Obiagheli Orah, Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of FAAN said: “this closure is due to ongoing rehabilitation work (asphalt phase) at the A2 Taxiway-link of the runway.”

FAAN further states that the closure is part of an ongoing effort to ensure the runway remains in optimal condition and confirms that “there will be no disruption to flight operations during this period, as all flights would be redirected to the alternative runway, 18L/36R.”
